Cooling bedding requires specific care to maintain its temperature-regulating properties. Wrong water temperature, high heat drying, or fabric softener can permanently reduce moisture-wicking and airflow performance.
Washing Cooling Bedding
Cold or warm water (30–40°C) is correct for most cooling fabrics. Hot water degrades bamboo and eucalyptus Tencel fibers faster. Skip fabric softener — it coats fibers and blocks moisture transfer. See the full washing guide.
Bedding Lifespan
Quality cooling sheets last 3–5 years with proper care. Signs of performance loss include reduced wicking, pilling that traps heat, and fabric thinning at pressure points. See bedding lifespan guide.
Quick Care Rules
- Bamboo / Eucalyptus Tencel: Cold wash, low-heat tumble dry, no fabric softener
- Linen: Warm wash, line dry or low heat, improves with each wash
- Silk pillowcases: Hand wash or delicate cycle, air dry only
- Comforters with fill: Large-capacity machine, tennis balls in dryer to prevent clumping, check for cold spots after drying
